We provide training for staff and information for students regarding specific laws written to keep our children safe. For instance, Erin's Law which was developed to get education in all 50 states on the prevention of sexual abuse. Govenor Bentley signed Jason Flatt Act on May 10, 2016, which requires all K-12public schools to establish a policy, staff training program, student curriculum, and list of resources for suicide prevention services. The Jamari Terrell Williams Student Bullying Prevention Act has been signed into law by Govenor Kay Ivey; it became effective on June 1, 2018. This new Act replaces the Anti-Harrassment Policy that had previously been adopted by school systems throughout the state of Alabama.
