Stone, William
SFC Stone began his teaching career at Burns Middle School in 2019 as an 8 th grade World
History teacher. He has been at Chickasaw High school since 2022 where he has taught 9 th Grade
World History and 12 th grade United States Government and Economics. SFC Stone currently
serves as an Army JROTC Instructor. SFC Stone served as the Assistant Girl’s Varsity Softball
Coach as well the head coach of several youth league softball teams. Prior to his teaching
career, SFC Stone served over 15 years as an Infantryman in the United States Army achieving
the rank and grade of Sergeant First Class, E-7. He served as an Infantry Fire Team Leader, Squad
Leader, Mortar Platoon Sergeant, Basic Infantry Mortar Instructor, Infantry Mortar Leader
Course Instructor, and an Observer Controller / Trainer. SFC Stone’s military career came to an
end due to Injuries sustained in combat in Baghdad, Iraq. His notable awards and recognitions
are two Bronze Star medals, multiple Army Accommodation and Achievement medals, The
Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and Army Parachutists Badge, as well
as several other awards and written commendations.
